How to Repair Acne Scars

Getting rid of acne scars is a concern for anyone who has
dealt with a bout of acne. In cases where the acne has
cleared and the subsequent scarring is a persistent
problem, there is no overnight treatment for repairing the
scars. There are, however, a number of treatments that
diminish the look of acne scars and can repair the scars
altogether. Microdermabrasion and topical products are
just two of the many effective scar-reducing therapies.

How to Repair Acne Scars

1. Determine if you have a severe or mild case of acne. Determining the severity of your acne will help you decide which treatment will be best for treating your acne scars. Internal factors such as overactive hormones may result in more severe cases of acne, thus causing deeper scars. Mild cases of acne may simply be a reaction to a product or food item and may cause less serious scarring.

2. Maintain a healthy diet. Drink less soda and drink more water. Consume less "junk food," and eat more fruits and vegetables. These actions will help decrease the likelihood of an acne flare-up. Healthy habits will also encourage skin cell reproduction in your body so that your skin can repair itself more rapidly.

3. Locate a reputable dermatologist or spa salon in your area and schedule a skin consultation with a licensed dermatologist or esthetician. The medical website MayoClinic.com recommends you write down your medical history, key personal information, and any questions you may have prior to your visit with a skin care professional.

4. Ask a skin care professional about microdermabrasion. During this outpatient procedure, a machine that emits fine crystals is used to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells from your face. Your doctor may also suggest pulsed dye laser treatment or laser skin resurfacing. Another option involves injectable fillers that are used to "plump up" acne pits to make these epressions less noticeable.

5. Visit the cosmetics section at your local drug store or the cosmetic counter at a department store. Scarring from less severe acne can effectively be treated by over-the-counter topical products. The primary ingredient in topical "fade creams" is called hydroquinone. According to the information available on Drugs.com, hydroquinone decreases pigment in the skin, thus fading dark spots and scars. Hydroquinone may cause slight skin irritation, so test a small spot on your face before applying hydroquinone all over.

6. Use the acne scar repairing treatments as recommended. The best results will come from a combination of continued correct use of the scar treatment, healthy diet, regular skin cleansing, and use of sun protection.

Justin Bieber booed at Billboard Music Awards

Teen pop star Justin Bieber was greeted by both cheers and jeers when he picked up the Milestone Award at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. "I'm 19 years old. I think I'm doing a pretty good job. And basically, from my heart, I just really want to say it should really be about the music. This is not a gimmick. I'm an artist and I should be taken seriously, and all this other bull[expletive] should not be spoken of," the singer said Sunday night as he collected the award, which recognized his success on the record chart during the past year. His remarks prompted mixed, but loud reactions from the people in the crowd. Bieber also won the Billboard Music Awards for Top Male Artist and Top Social Artist at the weekend ceremony, which aired on ABC. The recording artist's accomplishments have been eclipsed lately by reports saying he has been fighting with the paparazzi and his neighbors. His on-off relationship with actress Selena Gomez also has been making headlines for months.

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne attend event together

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, who confirmed last month they were living apart, were photographed together at an event in Beverly Hills, Calif., during the weekend. The Osbournes, who have been married more than 30 years and are the parents of three adult children, hit a rocky patch in their relationship when recovering drug addict Ozzy suffered a relapse and was abusing substances for more than a year.
Despite their recent separation, both Sharon and Ozzy have publicly said they have no plans to divorce. The New York Daily News said the television personality and her rocker husband have been trying to work out their problems and were seen looking affectionate Saturday night at a gala event. TMZ said the couple had met for lunch earlier in the day.

Singer Trace Adkins wins 'Celebrity Apprentice'

Country singer Trace Adkins won the all-stars edition of the business-themed competition series "The Celebrity Apprentice" in New York Sunday night. Host and executive producer Donald Trump declared Adkins the winner at the end of the show's 2-hour season finale. Adkins beat out his fellow finalist, magician Penn Jillette, for the honor. Celebrities previously eliminated from the show this season include actresses Marilu Henner and Lisa Rinna, actors Gary Busey and Stephen Baldwin, NBA star Dennis Rodman, reality TV personality Omarosa Manigault, model Claudia Jordan, rockers Dee Snider and Bret Michaels, and singers LaToya Jackson and Lil Jon.

Rowland and Rubio in talks to be 'X Factor' judges

Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio are in talks to be judges on "The X Factor" in Los Angeles next season, TMZ reported Monday. Rowland and Rubio would replace outgoing panelists Britney Spears and L.A. Reid. Judges Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell are expected to return next season. TMZ said Fox declined to comment on the report.

It's Sinbad...

'90s comedian Sinbad claims he's broke as a joke... again, filing for bankruptcy for the second time since 2009. Sinbad (real name David Adkins) filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy last month, claiming he owes $10,991,715 in debt... and only has $131,000 in assets. The 56-year-old comedian -- famous for his roles in '90s movies like "Houseguest" and "Jingle All the Way" -- says he owes $374,979 to American Express, $32,199 to Bank of America, and $2.3 million to the CA Franchise Tax Board. He also claims he owes $8.3 million to the IRS for taxes from 1998-2006, and admits he owes both state and federal taxes from 2009-2012. According to the bankruptcy docs, Sinbad earns only $16,000 per month and can't afford to pay his bills.
