Though it channels the great supper club Nell's that used to haunt the space in the 1980s, The Darby's upstairs lounge is more of a 1920s-style establishment both in cuisine and entertainment. On the stage they feature live jazz bands, and on the menu they sport their version of the Waldorf salad, various oyster dishes and the carpetbagger steak, which, while the time period in which this hunk of oyster-stuffed meat first came to be is debated, is as old-school as any recipe. And don't worry, even if Prohibition was in full force in the day and age The Darby aims to recreate, they definitely serve cocktails here.
